This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid is all-new. The main difference between it and all other Camry models is that it has a gasoline/electric hybrid powertrain that is able to provide exceptional fuel economy. The Camry Hybrid also benefits from the 2007 Camry full redesign, as well.

Pros:
  • Roomy cabin, efficient hybrid powertrain, stronger acceleration than many regular four-cylinder family sedans.
Cons:
  • More expensive than most other Camry styles, small trunk.

  • Expected a lot better - 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid

I had great expectations of this car and as far as mileage goes, I am very happy. However, the build quality is definitely lacking. This is my first Toyota and I have always heard about there great quality. So far, the satellite radio and bluetooth have been replaced, the heater/ac controls are getting replaced, the drivers sun visor has fallen off, the remote start only has worked once, the center console pulled apart removing a phone charger, the passenger map light died and all this in only 4000 miles. I purchased an extended warranty and I think I will be glad I did. Mileage has been excellent, although dropping off for the winter. Averaging city/highway of 38+.

  • Dont kick the bumper - it will break ! - 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Rides nice, smooth CVT, mileage is good. Many structural problems. INside dash squeaks, entire front bumper is cheap plastic (I replaced the whole bumper once: dealer said warranty doesnt cover design flaw.) The genuine Toyota replacement bumper is all falling apart again. It only takes the slightest accidental bump to crack it and then the entire bumper deteriorates. Really bad design flaw! Would never buy a Toyota again! Bluetooth hands free car phone is inferior! Tires were meticulously maintained (every 5K miles) and they only lasted 20K miles. Toyota quality?? Where?

Nice car. Everyone should have a Hybrid! But dont be shafted by the dealer. Camry disappointing in interior quality of components and trim that doesnt match in color and alignment. SHAME on you TOYOTA! And the damn beeper they have beeps at everything you do. GET RID OF IT. Center console too bright at night time. But quality in trim is seriously lacking. Stone Mountain Toyota, GA ripped me off, so beware and dont go near that place. The are "under new management" every other month. As a Hybrid the vehicle is fine and economical to drive for sure. Economy button for the A/C is UNDER the dashboard! WHAT were they thinking??? Brand new car needs an interior redesign already.

  • Electrical UNSAFE - 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

I bought my car new from IRA in Tewksbury. It has had electrical issues since the first week that have progressed into safety issues (brakes lock up and cannot stop). It has been in service uncountable times and even corporate engineers cant figure out the problem. I have been lied to in order to be appeased and I was too trusting. Now, they wont buy me out of my car or trade me into something safe. I cannot put my 8 month old son in this car. I picked up my car after the second time they tried to fix after losing brakes and after an hour, i lost them again. IRA nor corporate office are doing whats right. they admit there are other cars but do not recall. Toyota downhill!

  • Poor mileage for me - 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

I traded in a 2000 Lexus for a 07 Camry Hybrid. I dont like it. It does not even compare to the Lexus in quality or comfort. The ONLY time I have gotten close to 40 mpg is on the highway with the cruise set at 60. Otherwise I average between 32-35 mpg, tops. I drive very conservatively and have tried different driving styles to try to improve the mileage, but no luck. Handling (especially cornering) is a bit sloppy with this car (no comparison to the Lexus). The heat/air is also noticeably less efficient with this car than with the Lexus, and also with the previous 3 Toyotas I have owned. Im going back to Lexus!

  • A hybrid may not be for you - 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

Does everything well but nothing outstanding. WARNING: does not enter electric mode on short trips (< 1.5 miles) or over 40 mph even when the battery is charged and the engine is warmed up. Typical toyota quality and reliability which is better than most other cars. The SE with the V6 and 6 speed would be a lot more fun to drive, but would not get as high gas mileage.

  • Camry hybird is worst car - 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

Camry hybrid is worst car Ive ever seen. I bought this car for almost $33,000 and after I drive this car almost 151,000 mile, the hybrid system cooked. And I change hybrid system for almost $13,000. That means the car cost me $46,000 and still not satisfied from this car because last week fuel system broke down on the highway and I get into an accident. Changed the fuel system for $1,000 again, and at 70,000 miles, the abs break system was shut down. It was changed for $1500. This car is worst car do not buy please.

  • disappointing - 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Heres what I found out regarding small battery.....no warranty, has special battery..cost much more as it has no liquid( safety issue) You can toss out the milage amount.....somewhere between 26-28 mfg. I will never buy another hybrid as we put on only 380 miles per nonth. Am trying to lease either a fiesta or hyundai.

  • Big Mistake: traded 03 Avalon for Camry Hybrid - 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

The poor mileage is biggest problem (34). Not significantly better than gas camry V6. Lack of trunk space is very close second biggest problem. No, on second thought, its a tie for first. NO TRUNK SPACE. Minor problem: very poor AM Radio reception. Much worse than other Toyotas Ive owned. Mileage:the improvement over the gas Camrys is not worth the money and hassles of the Camry Hybrid.

  • 18 months later - 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

In first 18 months, this car has performed well, with excellent mileage, but I have been surprised to see a dramatic decline in the design and assembly quality that I found in my prior two Toyotas. The fuel economy is as good as other posters report (40-43 summer, 35-38 winter). Quality problems include incessant front dash rattles that the dealer cannot fix, no matter how many visits; cheap front and rear bumpers that crack as soon as you are touched by another car in a parking space; interior plastics and exterior paint that scratch at the drop of a hat.
